Old, or just obsessive?

Ok, so today in my Language and Media module we were talking about the language of text messages. My lecturer said that only old people punctuate their text messages and that this shows thay are not 'down with the kids'. Surely, I am not the only young(ish) person who can't bear to send a message without the appropriate punctuation! I even get upset when my boyfriend sends unpunctuated messages from my phone, just in case the reader thinks I have written it.

Today I handed in my bound copy of my dissertation. I would sing with joy, however, it would upset the cats. Oh, and probably the neighbours. Which reminds me, I work in the shop underneath the next door neighbours's flat (convenient) and she came in last week to tell me that she can always tell when I am working thanks to the manic high-volume laughter. Ooops! I like to laugh: get over it!

I am now going to go and stuff myself silly with all you can eat chinese and then get drunk off two glasses of wine. Have I always been this cool? xxxx

I always punctuate and capitalise my text messages. I get ever so annoyed when I go over the character limit and have to miss out a letter or two. Sometimes I say to hell with it and pay the extra twelve pence just so I won't appear to be common.

And you know what? I capitalised my username too. Damn you Blogger!

It's so nice to know I am not alone in my obsessive ways. Do you also have to switch the light on and off 15 times, or else your family will die? No? Just me? Furry muff x

I sometimes hover the switch half-way between on and off for the cool 'indoor lightning' effects.

And what is it that you laugh at, down in the shop? Also, I punctuate my text messages, but then again I actually am pretty damn old.
